There are offers for all new students, e.g. the welcome event organised by the Rectorate and AStA [Student Union] on the first day of the lecture period, cross-faculty offers such as the preliminary courses, which often start long before the start of the semester. Important facilities and services are presented and general information about studying to become a teacher is provided. The individual faculties offer introductory and familiarisation events for specific degree programmes. Continuing education programmes also have special offers for course starts.

Alarm options for threatening situations
The Radtschlag is a working group of the university's AStA [Student Union]. The autonomous working group runs a self-help workshop for bicycles. You can find us in the university building in C02-201. Use of the workshop is free of charge for students of the university and FH as well as pupils and employees of the Laborschule [laboratoy school] and OS. All others will also be helped if capacities allow
The six most important tips for students at Bielefeld University
The Student Service Centre is located very close to the new main entrance in Building A. Initial contact points for students as well as various counselling and support services are bundled here. There are also multifunctional learning spaces that can be used both as workspaces and event venues.
Other services for students, such as the student office and Bafög office, are located in the immediate vicinity of the Student Service Centre.
